Judiciary and the Arts Program Culminating Exhibit
On Monday, the Judiciary and the Arts Program hosted its culminating art exhibit, showcasing the artistic achievements of nine JAHS students. This year is particularly special, as it marks the first time JAHS has participated in this prestigious event alongside 11 other NYC schools.
Seven of our talented students attended the exhibit, accompanied by the families of two participants. The event, held at the Thurgood Marshall Courthouse in downtown Manhattan, provided a stunning backdrop for the students' artwork. Randy Macias, one of the participating students, represented JAHS with aplomb by delivering a public speech. He shared his experiences and insights about participating in the program for the first time, adding a personal touch to the already memorable event.
PS Art Exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art
The celebration continued on Tuesday with the city-wide PS Art exhibition, a highly competitive platform for public school artists. This prestigious event saw Mr. Martinez and Emily Singh from JAHS featured among the selected artists. Their artworks will be displayed in none other than the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Emily Singh's landscape collage, titled "Suburban Sunset," was chosen for its exceptional craftsmanship, intricate details, and captivating composition. Emily's achievement was celebrated in style, with her entire family joining her for the evening at the Met. It was a moment of pride not just for Emily, but for the entire JAHS community.
Congratulations are in order for Emily Singh and Mr. Martinez for their outstanding contributions to the arts. These exhibits not only underscore the talent present at JAHS but also inspire future generations of artists to pursue their passions.
