Our Commitment to a "Respect for All" Community

We believe that a partnership between students, staff, and families is the best way to foster a positive school culture. Below you will find key resources and reporting procedures to help us ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.

How to Report an Incident

If your child is experiencing or witnessing student-to-student bullying, cyberbullying, harassment, or discrimination, we urge you to speak up. All reports are taken seriously and will be investigated promptly and confidentially.

There are several ways to make a report:

  • At School: Contact a trusted staff member, such as your child's teacher, a guidance counselor, an administrator, or our school's designated Respect for All Liaison.

  • Online: File a report anytime using the official DOE's Online Bullying Reporting Portal.

  • By Phone: Call the Respect for All hotline at 718-935-2288.

  • By Email: Send a message to the central DOE office at [email protected].

If you feel your complaint is not being addressed by the school, or in cases of retaliation, please contact the central office using the phone number or email above.

Policies and Family Resources

We encourage all families to be familiar with their rights and the citywide policies that protect our students.

  • Chancellor's Regulations: Our school adheres to Chancellor’s Regulation A-831 (addressing student-to-student sexual harassment) and Chancellor’s Regulation A-832 (addressing student-to-student bullying, harassment, and discrimination). Hard copies of these regulations are available at our school upon request.

  • Family Handouts & FAQs: For easy-to-read guides, frequently asked questions, and translated materials, please visit the Respect for All Handouts Page.

Thank you for your partnership in making John Adams High School a welcoming and respectful place for all
